RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s U-17 team delivered a commanding performance to open their ASEAN campaign, defeating Timor-Leste 4-0 and signaling strong early momentum in the regional tournament.

Playing at Gelora Joko Samudro Stadium in Gresik on Monday, April 13, 2026, Indonesia asserted control from the opening minutes in the Group A match of the AFF U-17 Championship 2026, Antara reported.

Putu Ekayana Yoga Pratama led the scoring with two early goals in the 6th and 17th minutes, setting the tone for the match. Additional goals came from Ridho in the 36th minute and Dava Yunna Adi Putra in the 41st minute.

Indonesia dominated possession and attacking play throughout the first half, while Timor-Leste attempted to respond through counterattacks but struggled to break through a solid Indonesian defense. By halftime, Indonesia had secured a 4-0 lead, effectively deciding the outcome of the match.

In the second half, Timor-Leste increased their attacking intensity, with Tomas Pawel Rutkowski creating a chance in the 50th minute, but his effort was comfortably saved by goalkeeper Noah Leo Duvert.

Indonesia continued to create chances but were unable to add to their tally, while Timor-Leste showed resilience despite failing to score.

The result places Indonesia level on three points with Vietnam at the top of Group A, both teams holding a +4-goal difference. Meanwhile, Malaysia and Timor-Leste remain without points.

Indonesia will next face Malaysia at the same venue on April 16, while Timor-Leste is set to take on Vietnam earlier that day. ***
