The Government Appreciates the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League in Bandung

RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - The Vice Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia, Taufik Hidayat, attended the 2026 Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) All-Star event at the Bandung Arena, Bandung, West Java. The presence of Taufik affirmed the government's support for the development of national basketball, which is showing an increasingly positive trend.

In a press release received by RRI VOI from the Ministry of Youth and Sports on Sunday, 12 April 2026, he expressed his appreciation to the Indonesian Basketball Association (Perbasi) and the IBL organizers for choosing Bandung as the host.

Taufik also assessed that the event had proven successful in attracting public attention. "This is definitely a thank you to Perbasi and also the IBL for bringing the IBL All-Star to Bandung. The crowd was very enthusiastic, very crowded, and full. We also see many basketball generations here, which is certainly very good for the future," The Vice Minister conveyed.

According to him, the high enthusiasm of the audience is a good sign for the future of basketball in Indonesia. Furthermore, Taufik highlighted the role of the local government in making this event a success. "Especially with the Bandung City Government's strong support, it's clearly a great collaboration," he said.

Meanwhile, Bandung Mayor Muhammad Farhan, welcomed this year's IBL All-Star. He even emphasized Bandung's position as the center of national basketball development. "This proves Bandung is the basketball capital of Indonesia," he said.
