The breakthrough came in the eighth minute when Andres Dwi Saputra finished off a quick move, converting a pass from Andarias Kareth to put Indonesia ahead 1-0. Australia responded late in the first half, equalizing through Corey Sewell’s free kick after an Indonesian foul near the penalty area.

The second half saw Indonesia dominate possession and create several chances, but Australia struck back with a counterattack to take a 2-1 lead with five minutes remaining. Andres Dwi then leveled the score with his second goal, keeping Indonesia’s hopes alive.
