RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian rising wushu talent Noach Daiki Santoso is setting his sights on the senior stage after a standout performance at the 2026 Junior World Wushu Championships in Tianjin, China.
The 11th-grade student from Krista Mitra Senior High School, Semarang, Central Java, delivered an impressive debut at the global level, winning two gold medals in Nan Gun and Nan Dao, along with a silver in Nan Quan.
His achievements contributed to Indonesia securing third place overall, with a total of nine gold, 11 silver, and seven bronze medals.
Reflecting on his performance, Noach expressed gratitude for his success in his first appearance at a world championship. “I am very grateful for this achievement because this is my first competition at the world championship level,” he said in Jakarta on Thursday, April 2, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
Looking ahead, Noach is preparing for a major transition. Currently competing in the Junior A category, he is set to move up to the senior level in 2027, a step he expects will bring tougher competition.
“Next year (2027) I will move up to the senior level, and I will strive to maintain the achievements I have made at the junior level. I hope I can perform even better than I did as a junior,” he hoped.
Before his world championship success, Noach had already proven his potential at the continental level, winning two gold medals and one bronze at the 2023 Asian Junior Wushu Championships.
Acknowledging the increased intensity at the senior level, he emphasized his commitment to continuous training and improvement to remain competitive and achieve further success for Indonesia. ***
