RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Rising Indonesian men’s doubles pair Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin demonstrated remarkable mental fortitude to reach the quarterfinals of the Orleans Masters 2026 in France after a hard-fought comeback in the Round of 16.

Antara reported that the young duo endured a grueling 55-minute battle at the Palais des Sports in Orleans on Thursday local time, eventually overcoming French pair Mael Cattoen and Lucas Renoir with a score of 19-21, 21-9, 21-18.

Raymond and Joaquin found themselves in a difficult position after narrowly dropping the first game. However, they responded with an aggressive shift in strategy during the second set, dominating from the start to force a decider.

The final game proved to be the ultimate test, as the Indonesians trailed until the interval. Their composure in the closing stages allowed them to claw back point by point and ultimately seal the victory. This performance solidifies their reputation as a formidable young pair to watch on the BWF World Tour.

With this victory, Indonesia maintains two strong representatives in the men's doubles quarterfinals. Earlier, the third-seeded pair Leo Rolly Carnando and Bagas Maulana secured their spot by defeating Baptiste Labarthe and Quentin Ronget 21-17, 21-16.

As the two pairs are positioned in opposite halves of the tournament bracket, the possibility of an all-Indonesian final remains alive.

The upcoming quarterfinal matchups feature an exciting lineup for the Indonesian contingent. Raymond Indra and Nikolaus Joaquin are set to face the Danish pair Christian Faust Kjaer and Rasmus Kjaer in a bid for the semifinals. Meanwhile, Leo Rolly Carnando and Bagas Maulana will go head-to-head against the Indian duo Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi Arjun. ***
