RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia’s Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo will carry the nation’s last hopes at the Ruichang China Masters 2026, advancing to the men’s singles badminton final without playing his semifinal match after South Korea’s Park Sang-yong withdrew.
Quoting Antara, Bagas, ranked world No. 45, will face defending champion Sun Chao of China in Sunday’s final at the Ruichang Sports Park Gym. Despite holding a significant ranking advantage over Sun, who sits at No. 175, Bagas is expected to face a stern test against the home favorite backed by a partisan crowd.
China has asserted dominance throughout the tournament, securing seven finalists and already guaranteeing three titles in men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and mixed doubles through all-Chinese finals. Indonesia’s other representatives fell short in the semifinals.
Women’s singles player Ni Kadek Dhinda Amartya Pratiwi retired against Xu Wen Jing while trailing 3–11 in the opening game, and women’s doubles duo Lanny Tria Mayasari/Apriyani Rahayu lost a tight three-game battle to Liao Li Xi/Shen Shi Yao, 17–21, 21–9, 19–21.
The final day of competition will open with the mixed doubles match, with Bagas scheduled to close the tournament in the concluding fixture. His performance will determine whether Indonesia can secure a title at the BWF Super 100 event, where China has already stamped its authority. ***
