RRI.CO.ID, Mülheim - Despite falling short in the semifinals of the 2026 German Open, Indonesian women’s doubles duo Amallia Cahaya Pratiwi/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti are already turning their attention to the prestigious All England tournament in Birmingham. With only a brief window to recover, the pair is using the time for rest and final training sessions before their next challenge.

“For All England preparation, the priority is recovery since we just played a semifinal today. If we have the chance to train tomorrow, we’ll still take it so we can be better prepared,” Fadia said in a press statement released by the Indonesian Badminton Association's (PBSI) Media and Public Relations team on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Fadia stressed that she and Tiwi are determined to deliver their best performance at All England, which has become their main target following the German Open setback.

In the German Open semifinals, Tiwi/Fadia were edged out by China’s Li Yi Jing/Wang Yi Duo in a hard-fought three-game battle, 18–21, 21–8, 19–21. The Indonesian pair admitted that lapses in concentration during crucial points proved costly. “The clear takeaway is that we need to stay more focused in the closing stages, especially anticipating half-court shots. That’s something we must improve going forward,” Tiwi reflected.

The deciding game showcased the intensity of the contest. Both pairs traded points closely, with Tiwi/Fadia briefly seizing momentum after winning a 113-shot rally to lead 7–5. They carried that advantage into the mid-game interval at 11–9, but the match tightened again as the scoreline leveled repeatedly -- 13–13, 14–14, 15–15, 16–16, and 17–17.

In the final stretch, Li/Wang displayed greater composure, capitalizing on opportunities to secure match point after Tiwi’s return landed out of bounds. “It was similar to what Tiwi said -- especially in the first and third games, we became too cautious at the end, almost afraid of making mistakes. That hesitation held us back,” Fadia admitted.

According to the provisional draw, Tiwi/Fadia will face Taiwan’s Hsu Ya Ching/Sung Yu-Hsuan in the opening round of All England 2026, a must-win match to keep their campaign alive. (Diffa Sephiawardhani/Sri Wahyuni)
