Malaysia suffered an emphatic 0-8 defeat to Thailand in the final Group A match at Terminal 21 Korat in Nakhon Ratchasima. The result proved decisive for Indonesia, who progressed as group runners-up, Antara reported.

The team coached by Luis Estrela finished with a minus-three goal difference from two matches, while Malaysia ended bottom of the group with a minus-eight goal difference following the heavy loss to Thailand.

Thailand were in full control throughout the match. They built a 3-0 lead in the first half through goals from Darika, Suchanat, and Ariya.

The hosts intensified their dominance after the break, adding five more goals. Suchanat netted her second in the 28th minute to make it 4-0, before Sangrawee, Jenjira, and a brace from Paerploy completed the 8-0 rout.
