Aldi Satya Mahendra Secures Indonesia’s First World Supersport Podium

RRI.CO.ID, Australia - Young Indonesian rider Aldi Satya Mahendra makes history for the country at World Supersport, claiming an impressive second-place finish in Race 2 of the WorldSSP season opener at Phillip Island, Australia, on Sunday, February 22, 2026.
Starting from 28th on the grid due to mechanical issues in qualifying, the Yamaha Indonesia rider delivered a remarkable comeback. Aldi even led the race for two laps before teammate Albert Arenas reclaimed the front on Lap 15.
Both riders managed the race without a tire change, controlling the pace until the finish. Aldi crossed the line just behind Arenas to secure his place on the podium.
The result marks Indonesia’s first-ever podium in World Supersport, adding another milestone to the country’s growing presence in international motorsport.
With the victory, Arenas now tops the riders’ standings with 38 points, while Aldi’s 23 points place him inside the top five of the WorldSSP 2026 championship table. The strong start positions Aldi as a rider to watch this season.
The championship continues with the Portuguese round at the Algarve International Circuit in Portimao, scheduled for March 27–29. ***
