RRI.CO.ID, Bangkok - Indonesian men’s singles shuttler Moh Zaki Ubaidillah, widely known as Ubed, claimed the BWF World Tour Super 300 Thailand Masters 2026 title after defeating home favorite Panitchaphon Teeraratsakul in a dramatic three-game final at Nimibutr Stadium on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Ubed prevailed 19-21, 22-20, and 21-19 to seal the championship, overcoming both his opponent and a partisan Thai crowd.

The 2025 SEA Games silver medalist said he felt thrilled and overwhelmed by the victory on foreign soil, adding that the noisy atmosphere only fueled his determination.

“I’m extremely happy. It’s a mix of emotions, and I honestly didn’t expect to win because the home supporters were quite loud today. But that actually motivated me even more, because playing the host player meant he definitely didn’t want to lose,” Ubed said in a written statement received by RRI on Sunday.

The match was fiercely contested from the opening game, with both players trading points throughout. Although Ubed frequently trailed, the scoreline remained tight.

Panitchaphon initially fell behind 2-1 before taking control to lead 4-1 and later reached the interval with an 11-9 advantage. Ubed found himself down 19-16 late in the first game but refused to give in, clawing back to 19-all before Panitchaphon closed it out 21-19.

“I was behind in the first game, but I didn’t want to give up easily. My coach kept reminding me to stay focused because before reaching 21 points, anything can still happen,” Ubed said.

Panitchaphon dominated early in the second game, racing to a 5-0 lead and widening the gap to 14-8. Ubed’s mental and physical resilience was tested midway through the game, but he gradually fought back to force a deuce at 20-20. This time, Ubed held his nerve to take the game 22-20 and level the match.

The decider proved just as intense as the previous games. Ubed again trailed at several stages, but his consistency, physical fitness, and strong mentality ultimately carried him to victory, as he closed the third game 21-19 to secure the Super 300 title.

Ubed dedicated the triumph to his parents, family, the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI), PB Djarum, and supporters, expressing hope for even greater achievements ahead.

“I dedicate this win to my parents, family, PBSI, PB Djarum, and everyone. Going forward, I hope I can achieve even better results, and hopefully win a Super 500 title or higher,” he said.​ (Gusti Panji/Lasti Martina)
