KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian wheelchair tennis team is sharpening strategies and techniques at a national training camp in Surakarta, Central Java, ahead of the 2025 ASEAN Para Games in Thailand scheduled for January 20-26, 2026, aiming to maximize performance in men’s and women’s singles as well as men’s doubles events.

“Evaluations are conducted continuously during the training camp to prepare for three events: men’s and women’s singles, as well as men’s doubles,” Satria said in Surakarta on Sunday, January 11, 2026, as quoted by Antara.

He said, the evaluation process takes place regularly, with each training period serving as an opportunity to track athlete progress and address weaknesses observed during match simulations. This approach aims to improve the athletes’ consistency under real competition conditions.

Before joining the national training camp, the athletes underwent intensive training at their respective regional training centers. The four athletes come from Jakarta and Yogyakarta, where they regularly practice physical conditioning and basic techniques. The national camp serves as the next step to sharpen tactical and technical details.

Satria added that the athletes’ physical condition is already well-established thanks to structured regional training programs. Therefore, the focus at the national level is on strategic play, technical variations, and decision-making on the court.

“So, here at the camp, we focus on sharpening strategies and techniques, correcting any shortcomings,” he explained.

The Indonesian wheelchair tennis team will compete in three events at the ASEAN Para Games, with athletes Kevin Sanjaya, Agus Fitriadi, Siti Hanna Komala Sari, and Ndaru Patma Putri representing the country.

Through a structured and step-by-step preparation, Satria is optimistic the athletes will deliver their best performance and be competitive at the Southeast Asian level. ***
