KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia enters the 2026 badminton season with several men’s singles players securing places in the world’s top 100, underscoring the country’s continued presence in the global competition.

Leading the pack is Jonatan Christie, popularly known as Jojo, who begins the year ranked world No. 4 with 81,924 points, according to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings released in the first week of January 2026. His position makes him the only Indonesian men’s singles player in the top 10 at the start of the season, Antara reported.

Compared to early 2025, Jonatan has slipped one spot, but he remains firmly among the elite of the men’s singles circuit.

Behind him, Alwi Farhan has achieved a career milestone by breaking into the world’s top 20 for the first time, opening 2026 at No. 17. Meanwhile, Mohammad Zaki Ubaidillah sits at No. 48, followed closely by Prahdiska Bagas at No. 49 and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo at No. 50. Former world top player Anthony Sinisuka Ginting begins the year at No. 58.

Other Indonesians in the top 100 include Muhamad Yusuf (No. 51), Yohanes Saut Marcellyno (No. 79), Bismo Raya Oktora (No. 86), and Christian Adinata (No. 98).

These rankings provide an early snapshot of Indonesia’s standing in men’s singles competition as the international tournament calendar gets underway in 2026.
