KBRN, Jakarta: The Indonesian national esports team's journey in the Free Fire event at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand ended favorably. They managed to secure silver and bronze medals on Thursday, December 18.

Team INA 1 was in second place in the standings with 106 points on the first day of the tournament at Sala Phra Kieo, Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok. A seven-point head start gave them an early advantage going into the final day, as reported by Antara.

The INA 1 squad was strengthened by Wira Gunawan, Aby Siliwangi Jaya Kusuma, Abdullah Kamal Hasibuan, M. Haidir Ali, and Muhammad Fikry Haikal. Their impressive performance saw the team rise to second place after the second game on the Purgatory map.

Meanwhile, INA 2, reinforced by Muh Raehan, Adrian, Kahfi Alfathan, Adam Ramdani, and Rafli Aidil Fitrah, also performed impressively. With a two-point head start, they even topped the standings after the second game.

However, the dominance of the host Thailand was difficult to match. Team THAI 1, the 2025 Free Fire World Series (FFWS) world champions, successfully secured three Booyahs, followed by team THAI 2 with one Booyah.

On the other hand, Vietnam and Malaysia also claimed victories in the fourth and sixth games. Although the Indonesian teams did not record any Booyahs, both remained consistent in maintaining their positions at the top of the standings.

By the end of the competition, the INA 2 team had accumulated 115 points and won silver, while INA 1 closed the competition with 98 points for bronze. The gold medal was won by the host team, THAI 1, with a total of 127 points.

The Free Fire INA 1 national team coach, Adi Gustiawan, expressed his appreciation for the players' maximum effort throughout the tournament. “Even though we didn't manage to bring home the gold for Indonesia, we dedicate these silver and bronze medals to the Indonesians,” Adi said.

This achievement adds to the accomplishments of the Indonesian esports contingent, which previously secured three bronze medals in the FC Online, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) men's, and MLBB women's categories. These achievements mark a brilliant conclusion to the Red and White Squad's efforts at the 2025 SEA Games. ***
