KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesia’s young athletes continue to shine at the 2025 Asian Youth Games (AYG) in Bahrain. They secured two bronze medals in teqball and triathlon, strengthening the nation’s position in the overall standings.

Teqball athlete Zahrotus Syifa clinched bronze in the women’s singles event after defeating Iraq’s Narjis Al Dulaimi in straight sets, 2-0 (12-4, 12-4), during the third-place match held at Exhibition World Bahrain.

“I was quite dominant against the Iraqi athlete. I controlled the game and won in straight sets. My next goal is to win a medal at the Youth Olympic Games,” Syifa said in her official statement following the match, as reported by antaranews.com on Thursday, October 23, 2025.

In triathlon, Ardistri Aira Martha earned bronze in the women’s individual super sprint event, finishing with a time of 30 minutes and 54 seconds. She placed just behind China’s Bian Zijia and Xu Enge, who took gold and silver respectively.

This achievement highlights the endurance and competitive spirit of Indonesia’s young athletes in multi-disciplinary sports.

With the addition of these two bronze medals, Indonesia now ranks fourth in the provisional medal standings at AYG Bahrain 2025. The national tally includes one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.

The gold medal was previously secured by martial artist Winata Fugon Habbil in the men’s 51–55 kg category, while Qiken Dwi Tata Olifia earned silver in the same weight class for women.

Indonesia currently trails Iran, which holds third place with three gold, two silver, and three bronze medals. China ranks second with three gold, three silver, and one bronze, while Uzbekistan leads the standings with five gold and one bronze.

These accomplishments reflect the determination and resilience of Indonesia’s youth, who continue to demonstrate their best on the Asian sports stage. ***
