KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian mixed doubles shuttlers Jafar Hidayatullah and Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 French Open, held at Glaz Arena in Cesson-Sévigné, France, on Tuesday night local time, October 21, 2025.
The pair defeated Denmark’s Mads Vestergaard and Christien Busch in straight games, 21-7 and 21-14, to advance to the round of 16.
“The key to today’s victory was our confidence in our game,” Felisha said on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, as quoted by antaranews.com. Their combination of fast attacks and tight defense left the Danish duo struggling to respond.
Felisha added that she felt increasingly confident applying their game strategy at the French Open. “If we get the chance, we just need to execute our strategy and give our best effort. Hopefully, we can win the match,” she said.
Echoing Felisha’s sentiment, Jafar noted that the match went smoothly, with no major obstacles. Their aggressive approach was implemented from the start and maintained throughout the game.
“We focused on attacking, and that’s what we applied from the beginning to the end, continuous pressure,” Jafar said.
In the round of 16, Jafar and Felisha are set to face Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran. The match presents an opportunity for the Indonesian pair to avenge their straight-game loss to the Thai duo at the 2025 Thailand Open on May 15.
With this win, Jafar and Felisha have strengthened Indonesia’s presence in the mixed doubles category at the French Open. Their success also serves as motivation for the rest of the Indonesian contingent still competing in the tournament. ***
