KBRN, Jakarta: Young midfielder Robi Darwis has once again received a call-up to the Indonesia U-23 national team. The PERSIB Bandung player is set to compete in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup 2026 qualifiers, Group J, to be held at Gelora Delta Stadium in Sidoarjo, East Java.
Indonesia U-23 will face Laos in September 2025, Macau on September 6, 2025, and South Korea on September 9, 2025, in Group J. The team has been in training camp since late August in preparation for the three crucial matches.
Robi expressed his excitement and determination to make the most of the opportunity.
"I'm very enthusiastic about this agenda. It's a valuable chance, and I don't want to waste the opportunity that's been given to me. I will do my best to contribute positively," said Robi, as quoted by persib.co.id.
Beyond his personal ambitions, Robi emphasized the importance of team success and collaboration. "My personal hope is to contribute to the team and help Indonesia qualify for the final round of the U-23 Asian Cup," he added.
Quoting antaranews.com, the 22-year-old midfielder is no stranger to international duty. He has already earned eight caps for the Indonesia U-23 team and was a key figure under coach Gerald Vanenburg during the 2025 ASEAN U-23 Championship held in July.
At that tournament, Robi played in all five matches, delivering four assists, and helped guide Garuda Muda to the final, where they narrowly lost 0–1 to Vietnam. ***
