KBRN, Jakarta: Indonesian women's national team player Helsya Maeisyaroh has confirmed that the squad is 100 percent ready for their FIFA Women's Matchday clash against Jordan at King Abdullah II Stadium on Wednesday at 11:00 p.m. Jakarta time.
Speaking on the Indonesian national team's YouTube channel on Wednesday, Helsya highlighted their extensive training camp in Yogyakarta since April as a key factor in their preparation.
"We are very ready for the match in Jordan. Hopefully, we can secure victory," she said as quoted by antaranews.com.
Discussing the team's approach during training, Helsya explained that head coach Satoru Mochizuki has emphasized simple yet effective play.
"Coach Mochi wants us to play simply: more shots on target, more goals," she added.
Satoru further elaborated that during the Yogyakarta training camp, his team conducted two training sessions daily, in the morning and in the afternoon.
"Thanks to that, we could practice many important things, like teamwork, team commitment, individual technique, and team cohesion. We did all of that with sufficient time," explained the Japanese coach.
Satoru emphasized that this long preparation is geared towards the Indonesian women's national team's high objective: reaching the World Cup.
"We will participate in a very important AFC tournament. Our target is to qualify for the Asian level, and continue to move towards the World Cup," he stated.
After playing against Jordan, Indonesia is set to face Bangladesh on Saturday, May 31. These two matches are part of the Garuda Pertiwi team's preparation before competing in the ASEAN Women's Championship 2025, which was initially planned for Indonesia but will now be held in Vietnam from August 6-19.
Eight countries will participate in this 13th edition of the tournament, including Australia, Cambodia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam, in addition to Indonesia. ***
