RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has called on all personnel of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) to remain close to the people and be present whenever they need assistance.
According to Prabowo, the TNI has always been closely connected to the people. He emphasized that the TNI is a people's military, a national military, and a force that has fought for the nation.
“Therefore, never distance yourselves from the people. You must be among the people. TNI personnel must always listen to the difficulties faced by the people and be present when they need you,” Prabowo said during the 81st TNI anniversary ceremony in Jakarta, Monday, October 5, 2026.
Prabowo highlighted the role of TNI personnel during various disasters, including floods, landslides, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and forest fires.
He said TNI personnel have helped evacuate residents, reopen roads, build bridges, and deliver food and medicine to areas affected by disasters.
“The difficulties faced by the people are the responsibility of the TNI,” he stressed.
Prabowo said staying close to the people is an important part of the TNI's role in serving the nation and the state.
