RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has said that threats to Indonesia today are not limited to physical attacks. He also said the threats can also emerge through cyberspace, disinformation, economic disruptions, and smuggling.

According to him, the current global situation, marked by turmoil and uncertainty, requires Indonesia to prepare for various forms of threats.

“Today, threats are not only physical. We can be attacked, and have already begun to be attacked, through cyberattacks, disinformation, and fake news that seeks to divide Indonesia,” Prabowo said during the 81st TNI anniversary ceremony in Jakarta, Monday, October 5, 2026.

He also identified economic disruptions and the theft of national resources as threats to Indonesia's sovereignty. Meanwhile, drug smuggling, he said, could threaten the nation's future.

Prabowo stressed that the changing nature of threats requires the TNI to continuously improve its capabilities through learning and training.

“Peacetime is preparation for facing even the worst possible threats,” he said.

Prabowo said such preparedness is essential for the TNI to respond to various potential threats and safeguard Indonesia's sovereignty.
