RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed that Indonesia is a peace-loving country that respects other nations, while remaining committed to protecting its sovereignty and national interests.
He said Indonesia has no intention of interfering with other countries. However, Indonesia will not allow itself to be threatened and will continue to protect its people, territory, and national resources.
“We are peace-loving. We do not want to interfere with anyone. We respect all nations, all countries, and all powers. But we do not want to be disturbed,” Prabowo said during the 81st TNI anniversary ceremony in Jakarta, Monday, October 5, 2026.
The President stressed that the development of the TNI's defense capabilities is intended to protect Indonesia and its people.
“We are building the TNI for that purpose: to defend ourselves and to protect our people,” he said.
Prabowo added that the current geopolitical situation is marked by turmoil and uncertainty. Therefore, Indonesia needs strong defense capabilities to respond to potential threats to its sovereignty.
He emphasized that strengthening national defense remains aimed at protecting Indonesia's national interests and supporting the welfare of its people.
