RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN), through its Center for Research, Data, and Information (Puslitdatin), held the “Security Awareness 2026” program virtually on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The event carried the theme “Together, Building a Safe, Smart, and Responsible Culture in the Use of Information Technology.”
The event was attended by 408 BNN personnel and featured Ricco Armando and Achmad Aris Setiawan from Lawang Sewu Teknologi as speakers, with Harvilidi Fitriani from Center for Research, Data, and Information of BNN as the moderator.
As quoted from bnn.go.id, in his presentation, Ricco Armando discussed the importance of personal data protection (PDP) in carrying out day-to-day work. Data protection is essential because data breaches or improper use of data can have an impact on individuals, services, and public trust.
Ricco conveyed that personal data protection principles should be applied across various activities, ranging from document management and application use to workplace communication. Therefore, the personnel are expected to understand the respective roles and authorities involved in data processing and ensure that access is granted according to each individual’s needs and responsibilities.
Meanwhile, Achmad Aris Setiawan emphasized that “Cybersecurity requires vigilance and secure behaviour from every employee. Employees play an important role in protecting information, systems, and digital services from various threats.”
Regarding the use of work devices, Achmad reminded employees to maintain the confidentiality of their accounts and data, use devices solely for official purposes, refrain from installing applications without approval, and immediately report any indications of security incidents to the authorized parties.
Furthermore, information security practices also cover remote work activities and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Employees are encouraged to use secure connections, keep their devices up to date, and refrain from entering confidential data, sensitive information, internal documents, or credentials into public AI services.
Through the Security Awareness 2026 program, BNN encourages all employees to increase their awareness of the importance of information security in carrying out their duties. Greater awareness and caution in daily work practices are expected to strengthen information protection and support the creation of a secure and responsible digital environment within BNN.
