For the First Time, Phone Technicians to Compete in Inaskill 2026

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Ministry of Manpower will include phone technicians as a competition category in the 2026 Indonesia Skills Competition (Inaskill) for the first time. The move is aimed at improving technicians’ skills in line with technological developments and the evolving needs of the business and industrial sectors.

Vice Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor, said that efforts to improve technicians’ skills should be accompanied by opportunities to compete. He said competitions provide a platform for technicians to test their abilities while improving the quality of Indonesia’s workforce.

“Technicians are welcome to participate, and this is the first time that phone technicians have been included as one of the competition categories we have prepared. The final will later be organized by the Directorate General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development,” Afriansyah said while closing the 2026 Indonesia World Cup Circuit Global Championship (CGC) at the Ministry of Manpower Building in Jakarta, Sunday, September 27, 2026.

The phone technician category will be held at the Ministry of Manpower’s Vocational Training Building on Jalan Gatot Subroto No. 44, South Jakarta. The Ministry is also encouraging phone technician communities across Indonesia to prepare for the national competition.

He said the demands placed on technicians are evolving alongside technological advances. Therefore, technicians need to continuously improve their analytical and problem-solving skills while adapting their competencies to innovation and industry needs.

“This will enable the quality of Indonesia’s technical workforce to meet the needs of an increasingly modern business and industrial sector,” he explained.

The Vice Minister furhter expressed hope that the competition would contribute to improving the quality of Indonesian technicians, allowing them to further test their skills and compete globally. He also encouraged phone technician communities across Indonesia to take advantage of the opportunity to improve their competencies.

Meanwhile, four winners of the 2026 World Cup CGC—Renaldi, Ayunan, and M. Alvin Agustiawan from the CGC iPhone CPU Repair category, as well as Diki Arista from the Asian Skill Competition (ASC) category—will compete in the 2026 CGC World Cup at the Poly World Trade Center Expo (PWTC Expo) in Guangzhou, China, on October 10–11, 2026.
