Govt Housing Loan Uptake Reaches IDR 25.29 Trillion, Renovations Hit 86,000 Homes

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesian Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Minister Maruarar Sirait (Ara) said the uptake of the Housing People’s Business Credit (KUR Perumahan) reached IDR 25.29 trillion as of September 16, 2026. He said around 108,000 people have benefited from the program.

Minister Maruarar said Housing KUR helps low-income citizens improve their home conditions through available financing. Based on the latest data, 86,000 homes have been renovated under the program.

“The program has enabled citizens to renovate 86,000 homes, not including those who built or purchased homes. Without this program, 86,000 renovations would not have happened,” Minister Maruarar said at a press conference on Priority Program/PHTC updates and the acceleration of decent, affordable housing provision for Low-Income Communities (MBR) at the Bakom Auditorium, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

He said most beneficiaries come from the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector. Housing KUR, he added, provides low-income citizens with access to financing to meet their housing needs.

Minister Maruarar noted that Housing KUR is a financing scheme that previously did not exist within the government’s KUR program. It was introduced during President Prabowo’s administration.

“KUR has existed for a long time, but there was never a Housing KUR. President Prabowo created the first Housing KUR, and it has achieved the highest uptake,” he said.

He said he is confident the number of renovated homes will continue to rise before the end of the year. “I am certain it will surpass 100,000, given that we are already at 86,000.”

Minister Maruar emphasized that government programs must deliver real benefits to the public and be aligned with community needs.

Due to high demand, the government has raised the financing ceiling for Housing KUR from IDR 36 trillion to IDR 50 trillion. The facility is available to contractors, developers, and building material shops classified as MSMEs. (Misni Parjiati)
