Vice Trade Minister Applauds 3-kg LPG Volume

RRI.CO.ID, West Bandung – Vice Minister of Trade Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri appreciated the Pertamina Trading & Services Padalarang Liquefied Petroleum Gas Bulk Filling Station (SPBE) for implementing strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for filling 3-kg LPG cylinders. This SOP implementation ensures compliance with packaged goods regulations (BDKT) established by the Ministry of Trade to guarantee accurate contents in every 3-kg LPG cylinder and serve as a form of consumer protection.

"We appreciate Pertamina Patra Niaga, particularly the Pertamina Trading & Services SPBE in West Bandung Regency, for implementing gas-filling SOPs in accordance with regulations so that the public feels secure. This step is a vital part of consumer protection," Roro explained during her visit to the facility in West Bandung, West Java, on Monday, September 14, 2026.

This visit serves as a follow-up to the agreement reached in 2024 between the Ministry of Trade, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), and Pertamina Patra Niaga to improve 3-kg LPG filling SOPs, covering both operational techniques and the traceability of equipment used at SPBEs. Rolled out in 2025, these SOPs ensure that the gas filled into cylinders by SPBEs complies with BDKT standards.

Based on BDKT supervision of 3-kg LPG conducted by the Ministry of Trade’s Directorate of Metrology up to September 2026, 100 percent of the inspected 3-kg LPG packages fully complied with legal metrology regulations, particularly regarding quantity accuracy. This supervision took place across 17 SPBEs spread over 12 regions, including Jakarta, Bekasi Regency, Subang Regency, Bandung, Karawang Regency, Medan, Bantul Regency, Grobogan Regency, Banjarmasin, Banjarbaru, Banjar Regency, and Wajo Regency.

Furthermore, Roro urged the public not to hesitate to use 3-kg LPG cylinders officially sealed by SPBE units. "The public does not need to worry because a sealed 3-kg LPG cylinder means it complies with applicable regulations," she said.

Pertamina Patra Niaga's Director of Retail Marketing, Eko Ricky Susanto, emphasized that BDKT compliance reflects the company's commitment to guaranteeing accurate volumes for distributed LPG. To date, 753 SPBEs across Indonesia have been audited by independent institutions and meet the specified SOPs.

"This is a form of our commitment at Pertamina, especially Pertamina Patra Niaga, in providing the best service for the community. This process has been running for a year. We also appreciate the input and guidance from the Ministry of Trade and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources. We continue to socialize BDKT to SPBE business owners and improve our services," Eko stated.
