RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) and the government will follow up on input from the Field Artillery Weaponry Center (Pussenarmed), the Indonesian Army’s Central Executive Agency responsible for weapons development, education, training, and research in field artillery.
Deputy Speaker of Commission I of DPR RI, Dave Laksono, conveyed this during a working visit to Pussenarmed in Cimahi, West Java.
He said the visit was conducted to assess the objective conditions of Pussenarmed and the threats facing the country.
“Commission I of DPR RI wants to hear input on the condition of Pussenarmed itself, including the threats faced by the country and how the center is mitigating these threats under existing conditions,” Dave said in a statement on Thursday, September 10, 2026.
He explained that Pussenarmed’s findings and aspirations will be discussed with the Minister of Defense, the TNI Commander, and the Chief of Staff.
“We will discuss with the Minister of Defense, the TNI Commander, and the Chief of Staff regarding the current situation at Pussenarmed in carrying out its duties,” Dave said.
Meanwhile, Commander of Pussenarmed, Maj. Gen. Budi Eko Mulyono, welcomed the visit from Commission I. He conveyed the actual readiness of the main weapon systems (alutsista) deployed across the country, including artillery and rocket units.
“We are truly grateful for the presence of the Commission I team because they can directly convey the actual conditions on the ground. We hope this will encourage the modernization of our main weapon systems,” Budi said.
Budi emphasized the importance of strengthening integration and human resource quality so that the main weapon systems can operate optimally. He said adequate personnel are needed to operate and maintain these systems properly.
“Strengthening defense across Indonesia cannot be done by a single service; it must be carried out collaboratively. Therefore, developing an integrated fire control center for the TNI and the nation is essential. We hope this can be realized,” Budi said.
This series of inputs and field findings will serve as the basis for Commission I of DPR RI in carrying out its oversight and budgetary functions in the defense sector. The goal is to support the strengthening of land defense that is resilient, adaptive, and relevant to the dynamics of modern combat. (Misni Parjiati)
