Garuda Indonesia Ensures Flight GA-604 Landed Safely

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – Indonesia’s national flag carrier, Garuda Indonesia, confirmed that all passengers and crew members on the Jakarta-Makassar-Kendari route landed safely in Makassar on Thursday, September 3, 2026, as quoted in a written press release. The confirmation of safety for flight GA-604 brings reassuring news to the global community following international aviation safety standards.

The Boeing 737-800NG aircraft initially took off from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta at 5:30 AM local time heading toward its scheduled stopover. During the flight, the flight crew identified indications of a technical issue with the aircraft’s landing gear system.

In response to the issue, the crew immediately implemented mitigation measures according to air safety standards. As a result, the aircraft landed safely and under control at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport in Makassar at 9:27 AM local time.

Management emphasized that the aircraft had passed thorough inspections and was declared airworthy before departing Jakarta. After landing, the technical team immediately conducted a follow-up inspection to ensure all components met strict safety requirements.

To fulfill its responsibilities, Garuda Indonesia prepared a replacement aircraft to continue the passengers' journey to Kendari. The replacement flight was scheduled to depart at 7:45 PM local time and arrive at Haluoleo Airport in Kendari at 8:55 PM local time.

In addition to providing a replacement aircraft, management provided service recovery and compensation to all affected passengers. These actions were carried out in compliance with applicable consumer service regulations in the aviation industry.
