Prabowo Reviews TNI Recruitment and Disaster Response

RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - President Prabowo Subianto reviewed strategic issues with senior officials recently. The meeting took place at his residence in Hambalang, Bogor.

The head of state met the TNI commander and service chiefs during discussions. Several ministers and related officials also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed adjustments to recruitment requirements for inland Dayak communities. The changes aim to expand opportunities to serve as TNI personnel.

“President Prabowo requested updates concerning adjustments to recruitment requirements,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said in a written statement on Sunday, August 30, 2026. The discussion focused specifically on inland Dayak communities seeking military service.

Prabowo also received updates about disaster responses across Indonesia. The reports included post-earthquake recovery in Flores and Mount Merapi's eruption.

Forest and land fire management in Kalimantan and Sumatra also received attention. He called for stronger response measures alongside community-level prevention efforts.

He affirmed the important role of village-level military personnel (Babinsa) in public education. They were asked to educate residents about forest-burning dangers.

“Babinsa should educate villagers about the dangers of forest burning,” the statement said. The effort aims to encourage communities to jointly protect forests and land.

The meeting reflected Prabowo's continued monitoring of strategic government policies. Discussions covered military development, disaster management, and environmental protection efforts.
