RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta – The Indonesian government reaffirmed its commitment to using the 2027 Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBN 2027) as a strategic instrument to drive national economic growth while accelerating public welfare amid global dynamics. Minister of Finance, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, made the statement during the 3rd Plenary Meeting of the House or the First Session Period of the 2026–2027 Legislative Year in Jakarta on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
RAPBN 2027 has been carefully designed to balance national development priorities with long-term fiscal health. This approach was taken to maintain international investor confidence while safeguarding domestic purchasing power.
The government positions the state budget not merely as a formal financial document, but as a tangible public protection instrument. Therefore, budget allocations are directed straight to priority programs that deliver measurable socio-economic impacts.
“The state budget is a tool of struggle to ensure the state is present, protects the people, and creates a better life. Therefore, every single rupiah of the state budget must provide real benefits for the public and support the achievement of national development goals,” Purbaya said.
The state spending structure in RAPBN 2027 is planned at Rp4,097.2 trillion or US$234.12 billion, with state revenue targeted to reach Rp3,426.0 trillion or US$195.77 billion. The government has also set the budget deficit at 2.4 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to allow space for flexible economic expansion.
“We designed the 2027 Draft State Budget to push for higher economic growth and faster welfare while maintaining the health of the state budget,” the Finance Minister stressed.
The focus of spending allocations will be directed toward strengthening education quality, expanding health access, providing connectivity infrastructure, and social protection programs. Through the synergy of fiscal policy and a strengthened investment climate, the government remains optimistic about achieving its 6 percent economic growth target in 2027.
