Indonesian Air Force Sends Aid to Earthquake Victims in NTT

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Indonesian Air Force Regional Command I (Kodau I) sent humanitarian aid to communities affected by the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The aid was transported by air from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base apron in Jakarta to Maumere, Flores Island, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
The aid delivery was led by Commander of Kodau I, Rear Marshal Erwin Sugiandi. The initiative reflects Kodau I's support for humanitarian efforts and emergency response for communities affected by the disaster in NTT.
Erwin said the readiness of personnel and supporting facilities was essential to ensuring that the aid could be dispatched promptly and reach those in need. He also expressed his appreciation to all personnel and crew involved in preparing and carrying out the humanitarian mission.
“Thank you to all personnel and crew on duty for their operational readiness, including the preparation of aircraft and humanitarian aid, as well as for their tireless efforts, working day and night to assist the government in delivering aid and helping communities affected by the earthquake in NTT,” Erwin said in a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Erwin said the aid was expected to ease the burden on affected communities and support the recovery process in areas impacted by the disaster. Air transportation was also used to accelerate the mobilization of aid to affected areas.
“We will continue to promote boundless dedication so that the sincerity in carrying out this noble duty can inspire every member of Kodau I to help overcome the difficulties faced by people affected by disasters,” he added.
Kodau I reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the government in disaster response through the readiness of its personnel and resources. Coordination with relevant authorities is expected to accelerate aid distribution and support the recovery of communities affected by the earthquake in NTT.
