The cooperative has facilitated the departure of 86 Indonesian migrant workers to Japan. Deputy Minister Farida Farichah said the financing allows the cooperative to offer services to prospective migrant workers at lower costs.

“This is a form of government affirmation. With very low interest rates, cooperatives can empower communities. In fact, some workers were able to depart without paying any fees at all thanks to this innovative financing scheme,” Farida said in a statement on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

She emphasized that the scheme demonstrates how cooperatives can transform into institutions that open international job opportunities. “Cooperatives must become one of the main pillars of the national economy alongside state‑owned enterprises and the private sector,” she added.

Chair of the Kita Miraino Hikari Sharia Service Cooperative, Aditya Affasha Riawan, noted that the departure of 86 migrant workers was the result of synergy between the cooperative, Cooperatives Ministry, LPDB, and partner training institutions (LPK).

He said the cooperative will continue to provide assistance to workers while they are in Japan. The 86 migrant workers will fill labor needs in the hospitality and construction service sectors. “This program is expected to serve as an example of how cooperatives can contribute to improving human resource quality while opening access to jobs in the global market,” he said.
