RRI.CO.ID, Magelang – The Indonesian government officially opened the 2026 Magelang City Job Fair as a strategic step to expand access to the national job market for local workers and global industries. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between the demand for digital talent and professionals and the dynamic nature of the modern business environment.

Vice Minister of Manpower, Afriansyah Noor, emphasized that this event was designed to respond to changing labor market demands resulting from technological advancements and global economic dynamics. According to him, cross-sector collaboration is key to ensuring that job seekers’ skills remain relevant to current industry standards.

“In an ever-changing job market, job fairs play a vital role by directly connecting job seekers with companies in need of workers,” he said during the opening of the 2026 Magelang City Job Fair in Magelang, Central Java, on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

In addition to providing information on job openings, this fair also offers a space for direct interaction where job seekers can gain insight into the specific competencies companies are currently seeking. The government encourages prospective workers to continuously hone their technical and non-technical skills to remain highly competitive.

“A job fair isn’t just a place to look for job openings; it’s also a space for job seekers to understand industry needs and develop skills aligned with the evolving job market,” he said.

In addition to the formal sector, the government also highlighted the importance of the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector in supporting the national employment ecosystem. This sector is considered to hold great potential for fostering creativity, innovation, and the economic self-reliance of local communities.

“MSMEs are not merely an alternative but an essential part of economic growth. Many opportunities can emerge from this sector,” he explained.
