RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Public service quality is increasingly seen as a cornerstone of national resilience, according to Indonesian Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian.

Speaking at the launch of the National Public Service Movement at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN‑RB) in Jakarta on Friday, July 24, 2026, Minister Tito stressed that strong public services are vital for the country’s ability to withstand challenges.

“I respect this initiative. Hopefully it will not remain ceremonial, but truly embraced by colleagues in the regions, because public service is the key to our nation’s endurance,” he said, as quoted by Antara.

He urged government officials at both central and regional levels to continuously improve service delivery, praising the movement as a reminder for all civil servants to strengthen their commitment to the public.

Tito also cited President Prabowo Subianto’s view that a nation’s long‑term survival rests on three pillars: a strong military, solid police and intelligence, and an effective civil service. “This event aims to reinforce the third pillar, effective and efficient civil servants,” he noted.

Tito acknowledged the complexity of building quality public services in a vast archipelagic nation with diverse regions and a large population. He emphasized the need for robust systems to shape work culture, saying integrity must be paired with well‑designed structures.

He also highlighted the importance of Public Service Malls (MPP), which consolidate multiple services in one location, making them more accessible, faster, and transparent.

Local administrations, he added, should expand MPPs and accelerate digital transformation. Simplifying services and adopting digital platforms can boost local revenue, including through easier tax and levy payments.

The event concluded with a joint circular signing by Minister Tito, Administrative Reform Minister Rini Widyantini, and Ombudsman Vice Chair Rahmadi Indra Tektona. It was also attended by Presidential Chief of Staff Dudung Abdurachman, National Archives Head Mego Pinandito, and other officials. ***
