Indonesia’s Mid-Year Investment Hits Record USD 55.7 Billion

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, revealed that realized investment in Indonesia during the first six months of 2026 reached IDR 1,001 trillion (approx. USD 55.7 billion). This figure represents nearly half of the national investment target of around IDR 2,000 trillion for the year.
He added that investment performance shows positive progress. “In the second quarter, realization reached IDR 511.8 trillion, or 25 percent of the target of approximately IDR 2,000 trillion,” Minister Airlangga said after attending a Plenary Cabinet Meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, July 20, 2026.
Foreign direct investment (PMA) and domestic direct investment (PMDN) grew at a relatively balanced pace. In the second quarter, PMA was recorded at IDR 257.7 trillion, while PMDN reached IDR 254.1 trillion.
Minister Airlangga noted that overall investment realization for the first semester amounted to IDR 1,001 trillion, equivalent to about 49 percent of the national investment target for 2026.
The government also reported that economic growth remains strong. In the first quarter, gross domestic product (GDP) growth reached 5.61 percent, while inflation stayed under control, in line with government targets.
“GDP growth was stable at 5.61 percent for the first quarter, with estimates ranging from 5.6 to 5.6 percent based on the interim state budget report. Furthermore, inflation is under control with a projected average target of 2.5 percent, plus or minus one percent, which is expected to be achieved,” he said.
Minister Airlangga emphasized that these achievements are crucial for sustaining economic growth until the end of the year. The government will continue to encourage investment to create jobs and strengthen national competitiveness. (Misni Parjiati)
