RRI.CO.ID, Yogyakarta - The Yogyakarta Special Region is prioritizing inclusive digital public services to ensure technology benefits all citizens. Governor Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X delivered the message during the High-Level Meeting of the Regional Digitalization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) in Yogyakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026.

He said digital transformation should focus on improving public services instead of creating more applications. He stressed that technology must make services easier rather than shifting administrative burdens onto citizens.

The governor said digital services must remain accessible to older persons, people with disabilities, communities with limited digital access, and residents in connectivity-challenged areas. He emphasized that inclusivity should become a fundamental principle of government digital transformation.

"The measure is not how many applications are developed or how many cards are issued, but how much easier life becomes for the public. Technology must make life easier for citizens, not shift the burden of public services onto them," Sri Sultan said.

He also called for stronger integration across government digital systems to improve public trust. He said data integration, information security, and risk mitigation should become the foundation of digital governance.

The governor further encouraged government spending to prioritize local products and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). He said digital transformation should strengthen both accountable governance and inclusive economic growth.

The provincial government reported that 31 regional government agencies have implemented government credit cards in 2026, with transactions reaching Rp7.9 billion during the first half of the year. The achievement follows Yogyakarta's third-place ranking in the 2025 TP2DD Championship for provincial governments in the Java-Bali region.
