RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia remains open to investment and cooperation with other countries, provided such partnerships are built on mutual benefit and serve the interests of the Indonesian people.

The president said Indonesia chooses to maintain good relations with all nations and welcomes partnership opportunities for investors interested in doing business in the country.

“We are friends with all countries. Under these conditions, we are open to all partners and nations that want to do business in Indonesia. If you want to partner with Indonesia and work for mutual benefit, that is our stance,” President Prabowo said during the virtual groundbreaking ceremony for the Abadi Masela LNG National Strategic Project (PSN) in the Tanimbar Islands, Maluku, on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.

He stressed that Indonesia is now in a strong position and should not be underestimated, adding that the government will ensure that all international cooperation remains aligned with national interests.

“The world must understand that Indonesia has matured. Indonesian leaders are no longer naive, weak, or fearful,” he said.

President Prabowo expressed appreciation for the contributions of investors involved in developing the Abadi Masela LNG project, thanking Inpex Corporation of Japan, Petronas of Malaysia, and Pertamina, Indonesia’s national energy company.

“We appreciate our friends from Inpex in Japan who are investing here. We also thank our friends from Malaysia, Petronas, for being here as well. And of course, we are proud that our national company, Pertamina, is here too,” he said.

The president underlined that the government seeks to create a healthy investment climate that benefits all parties. He noted that successful investment projects must also generate profits for partners.

“Investors must profit. As a nation with self-respect and honor, we cannot allow our partners to be dissatisfied or suffer losses. We would be ashamed if our partners were dissatisfied or suffered losses,” President Prabowo said.

At the same time, he emphasized the government’s responsibility to ensure that the benefits of investment are felt by the wider community. Every strategic project, he said, must contribute to national development and the well-being of the people.

“On the other hand, we have a great responsibility to our people. We need this energy to carry out national transformation,” the president said. (Misni Parjiati)
