RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Deputy Head of Indonesia’s National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Agustina Arumsari, said President Prabowo Subianto has instructed stronger cross-sector collaboration to ensure the success of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) program. The directive underscores that the government's flagship nutrition initiative requires coordinated support from all relevant ministries and state institutions.

Speaking in Jakarta on Thursday, July 16, 2026, she said the President delivered the instruction during a limited cabinet meeting at the Presidential Palace the previous day. The meeting focused on strengthening the implementation of the national nutrition improvement program.

According to her, President Prabowo directed all relevant ministries and government agencies to provide full support to the National Nutrition Agency in implementing the MBG program. She said inter-agency collaboration is essential to ensuring the program is carried out effectively across the country.

"The President has instructed all relevant ministries and agencies to support and assist the National Nutrition Agency in ensuring the success of the Free Nutritious Meals program, as this synergy is a crucial step in strengthening its implementation on the ground," Agustina said.

She added that the President's directive reaffirmed that the success of the Free Nutritious Meals program is a shared responsibility. As a result, the National Nutrition Agency will continue strengthening coordination with ministries, government institutions, regional administrations, and implementation partners.

The cross-sector collaboration will focus on improving governance, enhancing implementation coordination, strengthening oversight, and addressing operational challenges in the field. These efforts are expected to ensure that every stage of the program is carried out effectively, in an integrated manner, and in accordance with established regulations.

Agustina also affirmed that support from all stakeholders will be critical to improving the quality and impact of the program. Stronger collaboration is expected to expand the program's benefits to communities throughout Indonesia.

The National Nutrition Agency reaffirmed its commitment to building closer cooperation with ministries, government agencies, and regional administrations to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals program is effective, well-targeted, and sustainable. The initiative forms part of the government's broader strategy to improve human capital and support the realization of Indonesia Emas (Golden Indonesia) 2045.
