RRI.CO.ID, Bandung - The Bandung City Government is preparing regulatory reforms to support Indonesia's Three Million Homes Program. The commitment was announced during the Housing Financing and People's Economic Empowerment Program Collaboration in Bandung, West Java, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

The national housing program was launched by President Prabowo Subianto to expand access to affordable housing. Bandung is aligning local policies to help accelerate its implementation.

Bandung Mayor, Muhammad Farhan, said decent housing is a basic need that should be accessible to all citizens. He noted that regulatory barriers and rising housing prices remain major challenges.

"Through President Prabowo's Three Million Homes Program, we will break the belief that today's generation cannot own a home. Everyone in this country deserves a roof over their heads, not only for themselves but also for their families," he said.

Farhan added that future housing development in Bandung will follow the Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) concept. Residential areas will be integrated with public transportation networks to improve mobility and urban productivity.

Indonesia's Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas Maruarar Sirait said the central government is accelerating housing development nationwide. Bandung is expected to receive around 1,000 apartment units under the national program.

"If I am not mistaken, Bandung has never received the construction of 1,000 apartment units at once. Under President Prabowo's administration, we will build 1,000 apartment units in Bandung," he said.

The Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera) also pledged support through affordable housing financing. The collaboration is expected to improve homeownership opportunities for low-income families across the city.
