Indonesian Air Force Supports IPB Students' Competence in Aviation Meteorol

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesian Air Force through Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base supports the enhancement of competencies for students of the Applied Meteorology Study Program at IPB University thru field learning in the Meteorology Subsection, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 14, 2026. This activity aims to strengthen students' understanding of the application of meteorology in supporting flight operations.
Field learning is part of the effort to strengthen the synergy between the Air Force and the education sector in the development of human resources in the field of meteorology.

During the activity, students received material on surface weather observation, introduction to various aviation meteorological equipment, and the weather observation process, which plays a crucial role in supporting the safety, security, and smooth operation of military aviation.
In a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The Commander of Lanud Halim Perdanakusuma, First Marshal TNI Ali Gusman, stated that the field learning is a manifestation of the commitment of the Indonesian Air Force, particularly Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, in supporting the improvement of human resource quality in the field of meteorology.
"Through this independent practice, we hope that students can understand the direct application of meteorological science in the aviation operational environment. Thus, they will have a more comprehensive foundation of knowledge, skills, and experience as preparation for entering the workforce," he said.
In addition to providing practical experience, the activity is expected to broaden students' understanding of the strategic role of aviation meteorology in supporting the smoothness and safety of military flight operations.
The Air Base also hopes that the collaboration with IPB University can continue as part of the effort to produce professional and competent human resources in the field of aviation meteorology.
