RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) continues to strengthen the implementation of governance, risk management, and integrity culture. It aims to build a resilient, adaptive, and competitive financial services sector amid increasing global challenges.

OJK Commissioner Board Member, Sophia Wattimena, stated that the implementation of strong governance is key to ensuring that every policy can be effectively implemented and provide real benefits to the community. "The success of development does not only depend on good policies but also on governance that can translate them into tangible results for the community," Sophia said while opening the Risk and Governance Summit (RGS) 2026 in Jakarta, Tuesday, July 15, 2026.

According to her, governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) is no longer just a compliance instrument, but rather a fundamental foundation in maintaining organizational resilience while also driving economic growth. Strengthening GRC is also in line with the government's seventh Asta Cita, which emphasizes bureaucratic reform, corruption prevention, and the implementation of good governance.

On the same occasion, the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, represented by the Deputy for Coordination of Management and Development of State-Owned Enterprises, Ferry Irawan, emphasized that good governance is an important foundation for strengthening institutional credibility, providing business certainty, and increasing investor confidence.

"Good governance is not just a matter of compliance, but a foundation that strengthens institutional credibility, provides certainty for business actors and investors, and ultimately drives sustainable economic growth," he stated.

Ferry hopes that the Risk and Governance Summit 2026 will be a momentum to strengthen the synergy among stakeholders in building governance that is ready to face various future challenges. According to him, such collaboration is important to realize a more resilient, transparent, and sustainable financial services sector.
