Prabowo: Red and White Village Cooperatives Become Centers for Integrated Economic Services

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that the Red and White Village/Sub-districts Cooperatives (KDKMP) will become an integrated center for village economic services and the main instrument for improving community welfare.

The President said that KDKMP will provide various services in one location, ranging from a cooperative office, basic necessities store, savings and loan services, village dispensary, logistics warehouse, to cold storage facilities to maintain the quality of agricultural products.

"KDKMP will later become an integrated village economic service center." Inside, there will be a cooperative office, a grocery store, savings and loan services, a village pharmacy, village logistics, a warehouse, cold storage, and various other economic services," the President said at the 79th Cooperative Day Commemoration in Jakarta on Sunday, 12 July 2026.

According to the President, the establishment of KDKMP was driven by his experience of directly witnessing various economic issues in rural communities, especially the limited access to financing for farmers. Therefore, the government wants to introduce savings and loan cooperatives in every village so that the community can obtain loans with affordable interest rates.

"Our people must have the opportunity to borrow money at low interest rates. The answer is that there must be savings and loan cooperatives in every village throughout the Republic of Indonesia," he explained.

In addition to providing access to financing, KDKMP will also become the main channel for distributing subsidized goods to ensure they reach the right targets and reduce the community's dependence on loan shark practices. The government will also strengthen fishermen's cooperatives by providing cold storage facilities, ice factories, and fishing vessels managed cooperatively.

The President projects that the existence of KDKMP can drive the village economy with a fund turnover of up to IDR 223 trillion per year and increase the income of farmers, ranchers, and fishermen by up to IDR 202 trillion. The government also targets the improvement of the national logistics system to make the distribution of goods more efficient.

Through the Merah Putih Village/Subdistrict Cooperatives, the government hopes to build a more independent, integrated, and just village economic ecosystem. The cooperatives are expected to become the center of economic services for the community, ranging from access to capital, basic needs, to marketing production results with the support of a more effective distribution system.
