RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, continues to bolster the development of the creative economy through various strategic measures—ranging from enhancing access to financing and investment and fostering startups and the digital ecosystem to accelerating the digital economic transformation.
Minister of Creative Economy, Irene Umar, made the statement while speaking at the "Finance 2045" event organized by Trescon Global in Jakarta on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
In her presentation titled "Creative Economy as Indonesia's Next Investable Growth Engine," Irene Umar emphasized that while the creative economy holds immense growth potential, it structurally faces limited access to capital (remaining under-capitalized).
Consequently, the sector represents a promising new asset class for global investors.
"At the Ministry of Creative Economy, we are committed to strengthening financial infrastructure through the securitization of Intellectual Property within the global banking sector. This innovative initiative aims to create new valuation tools that assist banks in assessing creative assets—whether they are already generating revenue or exist merely as new copyrights or designs—thereby enabling our creative industry players to gain easier access to financing and scale up their businesses," Irene said.
According to a press release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the "Bridging Global Capital to Indonesia's Digital Boom," Finance 2045 serves as a collaborative platform bringing together the government, investors, and industry players to strengthen access to capital and expand investment opportunities within the creative economy sector.
Optimism regarding the appeal of these emerging assets is bolstered by the continued growth of realized investments in Indonesia's creative economy.
By the third quarter of 2025, realized investments in the creative economy reached IDR 132.04 trillion—representing approximately 9 percent of total national investment—thereby meeting 97 percent of the annual target.
Meanwhile, the creative economy's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth also demonstrated a positive trend, hitting 5.54 percent by the end of 2025 and surpassing the established target of 5.3 percent.
"To sustain this growth momentum, beyond focusing on capital-related matters, the Ministry of Creative Economy is moving swiftly to resolve international payment issues for creators by expanding the reach of QRIS overseas. We are also leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain to protect the copyrights of local works while facilitating the entry of Indonesian creative products into the global market," stated the Deputy Minister of Creative Economy.
Trescon Global is a Dubai-based business forum organizer. Through its participation in Finance 2045, the Ministry of Creative Economy aims to strengthen collaborations with global investors, financial institutions, and strategic partners.
This initiative seeks to unlock broader financing opportunities for Indonesian creative economy players and accelerate the sector's growth as a new engine for the national economy.
