RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, emphasized the importance of strengthening Indonesia’s digital talent amid increasingly fierce global technological competition.
The government believes that the quality of human resources is crucial in navigating changes in the digital structure. Nezar noted that this also relates to advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and transformations in the technology ecosystem.
Currently, competition in the technology sector depends not only on infrastructure but also on the mastery of digital talent and innovation capabilities.
“Digital talent is a key element. With strong human skills, we can overcome infrastructure challenges and boost competitiveness,” Nezar said in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday, July 6, 2026.
He stressed that Indonesia must strengthen its digital human resources not only as technology users but, more importantly, as innovators, so the country can become a center of digital technology development.
Nezar added that the current pace of global competition is marked by rapid advances in infrastructure and artificial intelligence. In this context, Indonesia still faces challenges in strengthening its position in the global technology supply chain.
“Indonesia must move beyond being merely a user of technology. We need to be involved in the innovation process, not just exploiting it,” he said. (Misni Parjiati)
