Govt Maintains Telecommunications Industry Climate to Accelerate 5G Network

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Vice Minister of Communication and Digital, Nezar Patria, affirmed that the government continues to maintain a healthy telecommunications industry climate to encourage 5G network investment in Indonesia. This step is expected to provide faster, more stable internet services that reach more areas.

According to him, the government continues to introduce policies that support the sustainability of the telecommunications industry, including thru the simplification of regulations so that operators have healthy financial conditions and more room to invest.

"We are trying to provide a healthy environment and ecosystem by implementing several regulations that take into account the conditions of the telecommunications industry. We are trying to reduce regulatory costs. We want to ensure that this industry runs well with a healthy financial condition," Nezar said in Jakarta, Thursday, July 2, 2026.

He said that a healthy telecommunications industry is an important prerequisite for operators to continue building next-generation networks. Therefore, the government is striving to provide regulatory certainty while also encouraging the acceleration of national digital transformation.

Nezar also welcomed XLSMART's commitment to accelerating the implementation of 5G networks in Indonesia. According to him, the expansion of 5G services will strengthen digital connectivity and improve the quality of internet services for the community.

"I am very pleased to hear that you are undergoing this 5G transformation in Indonesia because you are very aggressive," he said.

Furthermore, Nezar believes that the sustainability of network investments must be supported by a healthy business competition climate. The government will continue to monitor industry dynamics so that operators have the space to improve network quality while also expanding investments.

He emphasized that the success of 5G implementation is not only measured by infrastructure development but also by the tangible benefits felt by the community thru the improvement of digital service quality.
