RRI.CO.ID, Bogor - The Indonesian National Police (Polri) commemorated its 80th Anniversary with both solemnity and spectacle at the Brimob Training Ground in Cikeas, Bogor Regency. One of the most striking highlights was the Armed Column performance.

With precision, discipline, and perfect synchronization, the personnel of the Police formed a rifle formation that spelled out “80th Polri,” symbolizing eight decades of service by the Bhayangkara Corps to the nation and state.

The ceremony, themed “Polri for the Community,” was attended by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka. It was also attended by state officials, TNI-Polri leadership, and thousands of people who witnessed the 80th Bhayangkara Day commemoration firsthand. Their presence underscored the close relationship between Polri and all elements of society.

Head of the Polri Public Relations Division, Inspector General Pol. Johnny Eddizon Isir, said the Armed Column was more than a ceremonial display. According to him, the performance reflected the core character of every Bhayangkara officer: discipline, cohesion, concentration, and accuracy of movement. “Those values must be embodied by every Polri member in providing protection, guidance, service, and law enforcement to the community,” Johnny stated.

The “80th Polri” formation was also described as a symbol of the institution’s long journey. He noted that it represents 80 years of dedication and a commitment to continue transforming into a modern, professional, and trusted institution. “This Bhayangkara Day is a reminder for all Bhayangkara personnel to maintain their spirit of service, enhance professionalism, and deliver services that are truly felt by the public,” he said.

In addition to the Armed Column, the 80th Bhayangkara Day ceremony was enlivened by a parachute jump display. Brimob personnel demonstrated precise airborne insertions, showcasing operational readiness across different terrains. The aerial performance drew enthusiastic applause from guests and the public in attendance.

The celebration also featured other demonstrations, including hostage rescue simulations by Brimob (Brigade Mobile), an operational vehicle parade, and a community defile involving dozens of civil society groups. These activities illustrated Polri’s synergy with the public and the personnel’s capability to handle various operational scenarios.

Through the Armed Column spelling out the 80th anniversary logo, the parachute display, and other demonstrations, Polri not only showcased its readiness and operational skills, but also reaffirmed its commitment to serving the community. The series of performances aligned with the spirit of the 80th Bhayangkara Day theme: “Polri for the Community.”
