RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Ahead of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia's independence, the government has officially announced the results of a public poll and unveiled this year's national visual identity logo.

The design by Fajar Novario, a designer from Padang, West Sumatra, was selected as the official logo for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia.

"The logo created by Fajar Novario, a young designer from Padang, was selected as the official logo for the Republic of Indonesia's anniversary. His design embodies the values of collectivity, synergy, and growth—values that align with the 81st Anniversary theme: A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia," stated the Minister of Creative Economy, Teuku Riefky Harsya, at the Presidential Office in Jakarta on Monday, June 29, 2026.

Fajar Novario is a talented Indonesian creative who was born and raised within the visual communication design ecosystem of Padang, West Sumatra.

A 2023 graduate of Padang State University (UNP), he actively drives the local creative ecosystem through various exhibitions and graphic design activities in his region.

“This proves that creative talent from the regions possesses competitiveness and the ability to shine on the national stage. ‘Local heroes’ becoming ‘national champions’,” the Minister of Creative Economy said.

Previously, five top logo designs created by professional graphic designers from various regions across Indonesia were selected through a rigorous curation process involving the Ministry of Creative Economy, the Ministry of State Secretariat, Bakom RI, and ADGI.

According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Tuesday, June 30th 2026, this year, the public can vote for one of these five finalist designs—each representing a unique visual interpretation—by David Wirawan (Surakarta), Fajar Novario (Padang), Kanda Putra (Denpasar), Riskiawan (Malang), and Tiffany Djohan (Batam).

"In line with the President's directive, this year marks a new milestone, as for the first time, the public can actively participate in selecting the logo for Indonesia's Independence Day anniversary through a public poll," said Teuku Riefky.
