RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - The Health Care and Social Security Agency (BPJS Kesehatan) has introduced a new arrears payment mechanism through the launch of the Rehab 3.0 innovation. With this service, members whose accounts are inactive due to unpaid contributions can now settle their arrears more flexibly, from weekly to daily installments.
BPJS Kesehatan administers the National Health Insurance Program (JKN), which provides health protection for all Indonesians. The program’s sustainability relies on participant contributions, managed under the principle of mutual cooperation.
BPJS Kesehatan President Director Prihati Pujowaskito said the innovation is designed to help participants pay off outstanding balances so they can reactivate their membership and regain access to JKN benefits.
“We are launching an application that makes it easier for inactive participants to pay in installments. What used to be monthly payments can now be made weekly or even daily. This is essentially about convenience and easing the burden of arrears,” Prihati said in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
She explained that Rehab 3.0 is part of BPJS Kesehatan’s transformation under the sustainability pillar, focusing on strengthening risk pooling, funding the JKN Program, expanding membership, and optimizing contribution revenue.
Once arrears are cleared, participants can resume regular premium payments to reactivate their membership and regain health coverage.
BPJS Kesehatan also launched the Pasti JKN application, which allows participants and prospective members to independently check their membership status -- whether active, inactive, or unregistered.
Prihati added that BPJS Kesehatan encourages the business sector to contribute through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs to support JKN’s sustainability.
“All capable stakeholders are expected to channel donations or CSR to the JKN Program. These contributions will help participants pay arrears and assist prospective members in becoming active,” she said.
The launch of these innovations also serves as part of a campaign to strengthen the spirit of mutual cooperation in sustaining the JKN Program through community participation and donations. ***
