RRI.CO.ID, Tangerang - Indonesian Vice president (VP), Gibran Rakabuming Raka, inspected an electric vehicle (EV) production facility in Tangerang Regency, Banten, on Friday, June 26, 2026. The Vice Presidential Secretariat said the visit was part of the government's efforts to strengthen the national manufacturing and accelerate its industry transformations.

"This visit aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to promoting industrial downstreaming and the development of a national electric vehicle ecosystem," the secretariat said.

VP Gibran personally inspected the EV bike production process at Plant III of PT Terang Dunia Internusa (United Bike), from the manufacturing process to the spare parts warehouse, the painting area, and vehicle assembly. He also saw several electric bikes ready for market.

He also highlighted the implementation of the domestic content level in the production. Director of United Bike, Henry Mulyadi, said that the vice president appreciated the company's commitment to increasing the use of domestic components.

"He saw that our production results are indeed domestic products," he said.

Henry explained that the use of domestic components in the EV production process at this location has met government requirements, with domestic content "above 60 percent". He added that Gibran also paid attention to the company's ability to produce most components domestically.

"He was very happy because we have produced many parts domestically," he said.

The secretariat said the review reflects the government's support for strengthening the national EV industry as a strategic sector in economic transformation. These efforts, it stated, are expected to strengthen the national industrial supply chain, increase the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector, and support the development of a sustainable EV ecosystem.
