RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, received an audience with members of Mitra Seni Indonesia (MSI). The meeting discussed the 2026 Mitra Seni Indonesia (MSI) Arts Festival & Bazaar, which will preserve and develop Indonesian arts and culture as a national identity and a potential source for the creative economy.

"We see this festival as a consistent event that involves a wide ecosystem, including fashion, crafts, and culinary products," the Minister said during an audience at the Ministry of Creative Economy Office in Jakarta on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.

MSI is a forum for lovers, observers, and practitioners of Indonesian arts and culture. The 2026 MSI Arts Festival & Bazaar is designed to be a space for appreciation and a means of strengthening the creative economy ecosystem by involving various subsectors, from fashion, crafts, culinary arts, to performing arts.

He also considers the consistent organization of these festivals to be crucial for strengthening networks and opening economic opportunities for creative actors. He stated that events like the MSI Arts Festival & Bazaar not only present exhibitions but also provide a learning space and capacity building for arts and cultural activists.

"This event is not just an exhibition; it includes numerous training programs to accelerate creative economy activists, including traditional music, children's stories, and cultural and economic discussions. So, the Ministry of Creative Economy is tasked with supporting the development of various creative economy sectors, but more importantly, strengthening the ecosystem for commercial sustainability," he said.

According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 that this event is held from July 21-23, 2026, at Graha Jalapuspita, the 2026 MSI Arts Festival & Bazaar carries the sub-theme "Rampak Melayu," emphasizing the importance of unity in cultural diversity while also highlighting Malay culture as one of the roots of Indonesian culture, influencing language, art, literature, fashion, customs, and architecture in Indonesia.

Acting Chairperson of MSI, Hesti Indah Kresnarin, stated that the festival will showcase a harmonious blend of arts and culture from across Indonesia, including various performances developed and trained by MSI, representing Western, Central, and Eastern Indonesia.

"This Arts & Culture Festival is a regular event held by MSI to facilitate actors in the creative economy, including arts and culture, performances, and other activities. We are preparing a market to promote products from SMEs in the creative economy, such as crafts, jewelry, fashion, accessories, and more. We also have culinary offerings," Hesti said.
