Films an Effective Medium for Conveying Family Messages

RRI.CO.ID, Jakarta - Indonesia's Minister of Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Agency, Teuku Riefky Harsya, discussed opportunities to strengthen the national film ecosystem. It is through creative works that present educational value and cross-sector collaboration in the film "Takkan Ku Biarkan Kau Menangis."

The Minister praised the film, which addresses issues of family and intergenerational relationships through this creative approach. "Now we see more and more creative industry players making films, both from established and emerging production houses. The quality of work is improving, genres are becoming more diverse, and the Indonesian film market still has great potential. The Ministry of Creative Economy continues to open up opportunities for collaboration to strengthen the film ecosystem," he said.

The Minister of Creative Economy made the statement during an audience with Producer and Director Ferly Halim at the Autograph Tower, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 23, 2026. During the audience, the Minister of Creative Economy stated that films play a strategic role not only as entertainment products but also as a medium capable of conveying social values to the public.

"This film is interesting because it combines various creative elements, not only in terms of story but also through collaboration with the music subsector. The Ministry of Creative Economy will continue to support the strved engthening of creative works through various forms of amplification so that more people will recognize and appreciate local works," he said.

According to a release received by RRI Voice of Indonesia on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, on the same occasion, Producer and Director Ferly Halim from Langit Pictures stated that "Takan Kuletarkan Kau Menangis" (I Won't Let You Cry) is a family drama that tells the story of the relationship between a child and a mother, with a key message about the importance of communication within the family.

The film also encourages the public to rebuild emotional closeness and express affection for their parents. "We made this film as a gift from a child to his mother. We want to convey that films are not just about entertainment, but can also be an educational tool because the public can see, feel, and absorb the message from the story," Ferly Hali conveyed.

He hopes that collaboration with the government can help expand the film's publicity reach so that its message can be received more widely by the public. Produced in Semarang, Central Java, this film presents a fusion of local cultures through the use of Indonesian and Javanese, while simultaneously combining elements of film and music with the involvement of various creative talents.

"Takan Ku Biarkan Kau Menangis" (I Won't Let You Cry) is scheduled to hit theaters on July 16, 2026, and is currently exploring distribution to international markets.
