Mojokerto Grants Land, Buildings to Strengthen Hajj Services

RRI.CO.ID, Mojokerto - The Mojokerto Regency Government granted land and buildings to Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The handover took place in Mojokerto, East Java, on Tuesday, June 16, 2026.

The grant was formalized through the signing of a Regional Grant Agreement document. The ceremony was held at the Satya Bina Karya Multipurpose Hall.

The agreement was signed by Mojokerto Regent Muhammad Al Barra and local officials. Minister of Hajj and Umrah Mochamad Irfan Yusuf witnessed the signing process.

The grant included land for the Mojokerto Regency Office of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. It also covered land and buildings used by the local Ministry of Hajj and Umrah office.

The minister expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Mojokerto Regency Government. He said the grant would strengthen institutional capacity and improve public services.

“We express our gratitude and appreciation to the Mojokerto Regency Government for this extraordinary support. This grant of land and buildings is not merely an asset transfer, but a tangible commitment to providing better services for the public,” he said.

The minister explained that changing the assets’ status from loan-use to grant ownership offers greater flexibility. It allows the ministry to develop facilities and supporting infrastructure more effectively.

“With grant status, we have certainty in asset management, allowing office development, service improvements, and supporting facilities to be enhanced. This will directly contribute to improving service quality for the public,” he added.

The minister affimed that regional government support is essential for strengthening the ministry’s institutional foundation. He said closer cooperation will help deliver faster, more accessible, and higher-quality services for pilgrims and communities.
